Stemcells, Inc has been involved in research on stem cell technology. No products in this area are
beyond the research and development stage at this time. Some revenue is brought in from licensing of
their human neural cells, various other patented cells and media products. Most revenue is derived from
equity deals, warrants and grants.
Phase I of clinical trials for Batten disease are on clinical hold until questions and issues raised by
the FDA are resolved. Current research and development also includes therapies using stem and
progenitor cells to treat and/or cure various diseases and conditions involving either injury or degeneration
of an organ or system.
Emphasis at Stemcells, Inc appears to be on demyelinating disorders , spinal cord repair, Parkinson's,
Alzenheimer's as well as diabetes and liver failure. Intellectual properties are in all three areas of Stemcell
research including the nervous system, liver and pancreas.
