OUR POTATOES AU GRATIN RECIPE

1/2 stick butter

1 onion

1 cup milk

1 1/2 slices american cheese

Mild cheddar cheese

2-3 potatoes

Flour 

  

   Heat oven to 350-375. Slice potatoes 1/8 inch wide lengthwise. Place one layer of potatoes in clear casserolle dish. Sprinkle 1 large tablespoon of flour in the layer of potatoes. Sprinkle onions to taste. Place sliced cheese and butter on top of potatoes. Fill in open spaces with cheddar cheese. Lay second layer of potatoes and repeat process. When complete, fill the dish 1/2 full with milk, cover and put in oven for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Serves 4 to 5.
